CHIPOTLE AIOLI RECIPE

chipotle-aioli

Chipotle aioli is a fantastic way to add a little spice and the right amount of creaminess and richness to a variety of meals.

Unlike other aioli’s, this Chipotle aioli is tangy, bright, and full of flavor. It’s also made with staples in your pantry so you can always have a batch on hand. The best part? This chipotle aioli recipe is so easy to make that it only takes a few minutes to whip up!

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS CHIPOTLE AIOLI

Let’s dive into the biggest aspect of chipotle aioli which are the chiles used to create that heated flavor. Chipotle chiles are smoked and dried jalapeños. For this recipe, I preferred using canned chipotle chiles in adobo sauce. You can find a can of this in most local grocery stores or Amazon Fresh.

This recipe is light but still filling when dipping and spreading on numerous delicious meals from main courses to appetizers.

This specific kind of aioli mayo not only looks delicious, it tastes way different than most other aioli’s. This is one of the best dips and spreads to use throughout the year as the spice adds some much-needed heat in the winter and the brilliant chipotle flavor brings out summer’s finest meals.

Can anyone say summer parties and summer BBQ’s?

Chipotle aioli tastes wonderful as the main condiment or dip for parties and gathering in the warmer months. Chipotle aioli goes splendidly with seafood, other BBQ food and fresh, thirst-quenching summer infused fruit drinks.

CHIPOTLE AIOLI RECIPE TIPS + TRICKS

Want a creamy aioli but not the calories? If you want to make a lighter version of this recipe, try replacing the mayonnaise with full-fat plain yogurt.

Greek yogurt and regular plain yogurt are fine to use here. If you like the taste of that original luscious mayonnaise flavor, then just substitute half the portion of mayonnaise needed in this recipe with half yogurt. By doing this, it will cut the calories but still have that creamy and authentic taste of mayonnaise.

Now, you can use both chipotle powder and the sauce from an Adobo chipotle pepper can OR…use just one option of powder/sauce if you’re not keen on spice.

Chipotle peppers are spicy on the spice level. If you like spicy food – then use a sprinkle of Chipotle powder in conjunction with the adobo chipotle pepper sauce.

Most Chipotle Aioli recipes on the internet call for lemon juice. Though, for my chipotle aioli sauce, I like to add lime instead. Lime has a bit more of a bite than lemon and the sour component will help liven up the flavor of the mayonnaise and garlic.

Another tip is to cut the crushed garlic cloves into super teeny tiny pieces. I’m talking micro here. If you can’t cut the garlic clove into pieces that small, then just substitute the clove of garlic for minced garlic (which comes in small jars).

HOW TO STORE CHIPOTLE AIOLI:

You can store chipotle aioli for up to two weeks or longer.

Depending on how tightly sealed you store the aioli in the fridge, it can last longer. I prefer to store my aioli’s in tiny mason jars so that they are ready to go for dipping when I want to incorporate with my meals!
